Disgusting.
If Senate President Travaglini listens to these guys over his own citizens of this state, I shall be very put out indeed.

I do find it embarassing to find the following on the list:
City of Boston
Commonwealth of MA
UMass
MBTA
US Postal Seervice
Logan Airport
City of Worcester
VA Medical Center
City of Springfield
If government can't get it right, how can we expect nonprofits (hospitals, BU, BC, Harvard, Salvation Army, etc) or corporations to get it right?

I have to admit, seeing all those municipalities up there makes me laugh. I know, its actually a sad state of affairs, but still.
By the way, I work at a TINY company. There's FOUR of us. What's the first thing the founder did when he hired other people? Made sure that he could afford to pay them health insurance as well as their salaries. We have Harvard Pilgrim. How is it a tiny company with four employees can do it, but the MBTA or the City of Boston can't?

Ed - thanks for passing that along. It would be great if more businesspeople like the founder of your company were (a) doing the right thing, and (b) speaking out about it. Presumably your founder did what he did because he either thought it was the right thing to do, or thought it would allow him to recruit the best talent, or (most likely) both. And he found a way to make it work financially. The Senate needs to hear that message!

They're not paying for their workers' health care: We are.
Isn't it the case that if these companies paid for health insurance, either wages would decrease (not so good) or the companies would increase their prices (in which case "we" would still be paying)?
