Get your Lowell on
In the House brouhaha (ballyhoo, balderdash) from yesterday, Rep. Marty Meehan (D-Lowell) reacted to Rep. Jean Schmidt calling a Bronze Star Marine a coward:
"You guys are pathetic! Pathetic!"
Now that's what I call representation. Thanks Marty. (Say it again if it feels good.)

Yet, when push came to shove - Meehan WASN'T one of the THREE votes (against 403) for the amendment.
At least Capuano had the guts to vote Present.
But Marty? Yells for the cameras and just votes no.

His pathetic comment made national news. Nobody's individual vote did.
One could say he wussed out, or one could say he got some digs in, helping the Dems win for the day.

Marty's vote was the right one. A split in the Dems is exactly what the Republican leadership wanted. And the resolution that was offered had very little to do with what Murtha had advocated.
